Shaedon Sharpe is expected to be out for the foreseeable future, with a potential return sometime after the All-Star break. That leaves Damian Lillard, Ja Morant, Scoot Henderson and Jrue Holiday as the primary guards Portland will lean on early in the 2026-27 season. Deni Avdija also deserves to be included in that conversation. While he has the size of a forward, the ball is frequently in his hands, and his ability to initiate offense makes him another important piece of the Blazers’ backcourt equation.
