Lakers named most overrated team by NBA star

Year after year, ever since the time of Magic Johnson to Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers have often generated massive hype. 

Currently, expectations can’t be higher given Luka Doncic’s presence. The Slovenian superstar has been in LA since his stunning trade from the Dallas Mavericks last year.

So far, the Lakers still haven’t gotten over the hump and won it all under Doncic’s lead. Despite back-to-back 50-plus-win seasons, the Lakers got bounced out of the first round last year by the Minnesota Timberwolves and were eliminated in the West Semifinals by the Oklahoma City Thunder this past postseason.

In the wake of LeBron James’ departure, the Los Angeles Lakers have committed to a major retool to fully commit to Luka Doncic.

After signing Austin Reaves to a lucrative max contract, the Lakers went all-in by acquiring Walker Kessler in a huge sign-and-trade pact with the Utah Jazz.

The Lakers also brought in new and promising faces, inking Sandro Mamukelashvili, Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton, Kevon Looney, Ziaire Williams, Matisse Thybulle, and Jaden Hardy this offseason.

Amid the hype and anticipation around their brand-new team with Doncic, this upcoming season will determine whether the Lakers can finally live up to the buzz surrounding them.
