Are you single in Atlanta? Join the club.
The southern metropolis was recently ranked as the top city in the nation for singles in 2025, thanks to its many attractions, active nightlife and extremely high single population. Around 70% of the city’s population was unattached last year, but that doesn’t mean its necessarily easy to find love.
Now, the Atlanta Hawks are hoping to capitalize on this population of Atlantans with an official “Single AF” night inside State Farm Arena this winter. The night comes after a previously successful pregame mixer last season for Atlanta’s single basketball fans.
Here’s what to know about the event and what you might expect to see.
‘Single AF’ night coming to Atlanta Hawks game
During the Jan. 7 game against the Indiana Pacers at home at the State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks will host a “Single AF” night geared toward basketball fans not in a relationship.
The team said the decision came after the “Single AF Pregame Mixer” last season was a success, and the program will now expand to the entirety of the game experience.
“Designed to bring singles together for an unforgettable night of basketball, entertainment and connection, Single AF Night will provide fans with unique opportunities to meet and mingle, while experiencing the excitement of Hawks basketball,” the team said.
More details about the events and evening will be announced at a later time.
Never been to a game? Here’s what it’s like
Thinking about giving the singles night a try but you’ve never attended an Atlanta Hawks game before? Here’s what you need to know.
State Farm Arena hold around 17,000 fans on game day, meaning there will be plenty of fish in the sea during the singles event.
Around the central level of the arena there are restaurants, bars and large open gathering spaces where fans can sip their drinks or chomp down on some classic Atlanta wings while still catching the game on the big screen. This means if you’d rather socialize while the game is playing, you don’t have to miss the action.
And Hawks fans show out. The Atlanta Hawks colors are red, yellow, gray and black and fans dress the part on game day. Don’t be surprised to see outfits from the typical jersey and jeans to one-of-a-kind custom dresses and heels. Dress to impress when you step inside the arena.
Basketball games have 48 minutes of play time broken into four 12-minute quarters, but a game typically lasts between 2 and 2.5 hours with commercial breaks, timeouts and breaks for video review.
