SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Construction barriers have been removed from North Temple Street as the nearly seven-year renovation of the Salt Lake Temple nears its end.
Temple Square, between State Street and West Temple, will be open to the public during the upcoming general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Visitors will be able to walk through the grounds, view the landscaping and see new statues.

The “Jesus Christ With Mary and Martha” statue was installed Sept. 15. It joined 10 other new statues at Temple Square.
One more statue, “Jesus Christ Blessing the Children,” will be installed later. The additions will bring the total number of new statues to 12.
The church’s general conference is scheduled for Oct. 3-4.
