A former second-round pick from the University of Kentucky, backup big man Nick Richards has put together a solid NBA career. The former No. 42 overall selection in 2020 has played six NBA seasons, his first four and a half with the Charlotte Hornets before being traded to the Phoenix Suns.

In 221 games with the Hornets, Richards wore two different numbers, switching from No. 14 to No. 4 after his first two NBA seasons. During those matchups, Richards averaged seven points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.9 blocks in 17.4 minutes per game. After being traded to the Chicago Bulls at the February trade deadline last season, Richards signed with the Miami Heat ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
