STARS Basketball Club will host its fifth annual “A Night Full of Stars” fundraising dinner Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Wilson Hall at Brentwood Baptist Church.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and buffet lines will open at 5:45 p.m.
Founded in 2014, STARS Basketball Club serves approximately 6,000 athletes each year, from kindergarten through 12th grade. Through competitive teams, camps, clinics, leagues, and other programs, STARS seeks to provide what it calls a “More Than” basketball experience while developing athletes mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially.
The organization’s mission is “Planting Seeds for Christ Through Basketball.”
This year’s event will feature dinner from Corky’s BBQ, a silent auction and special guests Tyler Tanner, a first-team All-SEC guard for Vanderbilt University, and David Benham, a best-selling author and entrepreneur.
The annual fundraising dinner helps STARS provide opportunities for athletes and families who otherwise might be unable to participate. The organization has provided more than $150,000 in financial assistance to STARS athletes during the past three years.
More than 200 people attended last year’s dinner. Organizers hope to bring together more than 300 community members, families, coaches, supporters and friends this year.
Community members and businesses may support the event by purchasing individual tickets or table sponsorships, becoming event sponsors or donating items to the silent auction.
