MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Students and teachers at Grizzlies Prep are heading into fall break with two new spaces designed to support reading and relaxation.

Local nonprofit Design Besties partnered with the school to unveil a new student library and a renovated teachers’ lounge. The spaces give students a place to read and teachers a place to recharge.

Both groups expressed gratitude for the additions, which Grizzlies Prep board member and former Memphis Grizzlies player Elliot Perry described as an investment in the school community.

“Yeah, I was blown away with the level of the teacher’s lounge; it’s beyond my expectations, no question about it. And so, we want to continue to have these types of partnerships; we want to continue to try and expand our services for not only our teachers, but our parents, too, and our students.”

Perry said partnerships like the one with Design Besties can help the school expand its support for teachers, students and families.
