The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks finish out their preseason opening trip to China on Sunday as they face off for the 2nd time in Macao
The Houston Rockets (1-0) and Dallas Mavericks (0-1) play the second game of the NBA China Games on Sunday when they square off again at the Venetian Arena in Macao. Houston won the first meeting on Friday and comes off back-to-back 52-win seasons that ended with first-round playoff losses, falling in six games last spring to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Rockets added veteran guards Marcus Smart and Bogdan Bogdanović and picked up Bruce Thornton for the backcourt in the NBA draft. The Mavericks, meanwhile, begin a new regime with Masai Ujiri, architect of the Toronto Raptors’ title team in 2019, running the basketball operations and first-time coach Dusty May coming off a national championship at Michigan. The rebuild centers around reigning Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg, the first overall pick in the 2025 draft.
