Milwaukee Bucks coach Taylor Jenkins said Nate Ament broke a full body sweat even without being a full participant in practice on Saturday, Oct. 10
Ament suffered an ankle sprain after landing awkwardly during the Bucks preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 7.
Jenkins said that although Ament’s imaging came back with nothing “overly concerning,” they will gain more clarity on the injury in the next 48 hours.
For now, Jenkins says Ament is approaching the recovery route well.
“This kid is tough, he’s got tons of resilience,” Jenkins said. “He’s attacking his return to play program with a great amount of urgency.”

Jenkins added that Ament, the 13th overall pick in the NBA draft, is aiming to play on opening night versus the Washington Wizards.
Even with the injury, Jenkins said he has seen progress from Ament since he arrived in Milwaukee. “He’s shown a lot of growth since summer league and he’s been in our building since he got drafted,” Jenkins said.
For a 19-year-old rookie, coach Jenkins commended his mentality. “He’s not beaten up by it, he’s just attacking the day trying to be available for his team to impact winning,” Jenkins said.
