Playfly Sports will lead both the Clippers’ local and national ad sales this season, its first all-encompassing NBA partnership and a follow-up to similar hybrid deals with MLB’s Cubs, Guardians, Rockies and Twins.

Playfly has long represented the Clippers for only national sales. But — with the franchise about to execute a one-year direct-to-distributor local TV deal, a partial-OTA package on Nexstar’s KTLA-5 and reprise ClipperVision for streaming — Playfly will handle their entire 2026-27 portfolio. The now-defunct Main Street Sports Group handled the team’s local ad sales last season.

“We have a big office in L.A.,” said Nick Cartan, Managing Director and Head of Media for Playfly Sports. “We have a great relationship with the Clippers. We’re already calling on all of these clients because we’re representing L.A. clientele nationally. It’s just a natural way to extend our national rights into local capabilities and a close relationship between our two organizations.”

Cartan said Playfly Sports “will hire dedicated resources” as part of the collaboration, somewhat similar to what it’s done with its four MLB franchises. In Chicago, Cleveland, Denver and Minnesota, he said, the company has hired staffers to sell exclusively for local, while it continues to sell nationally. The local staffs in those four cities also lean into Playfly’s national sales force for contacts and data.

The Clippers’ broadcasts are expected to be produced by the NBA’s in-house broadcast group, as the league begins prepping for its aggregated hub in 2027-28. Playfly Sports is a likely candidate to handle ad sales for the league’s hub, whether it is housed by YouTube, Amazon, DAZN or ESPN. That’s why Playfly’s one-year local/national deal with the Clippers could extend beyond this season.

Playfly Sports is also expected to assist DAZN with ad sales in 2026-27, considering DAZN will control most of the inventory for four out of its five exclusive NBA franchises: the Cavs, Grizzlies, Pacers and T’Wolves. The Spurs — DAZN’s fifth exclusive team — requested to control their own inventory, although the Spurs are airing 22 of their DAZN games free over the air.
