VFL Nate Ament recorded the first field goal of his NBA career with a smooth three-pointer for the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night. Ament drilled his shot with time winding down in the third quarter, and his three-pointer put Milwaukee in front of Indiana by two points.

Ament played 14 minutes off the bench in the Bucks’ 110-102 win over the Pacers. He recorded seven points on 3-of-8 shooting and hit one of his two shots from behind the arc. He also added three rebounds and one foul. Ultimately, Ament was +12 in his 14 minutes, which was good for the second-highest mark on the team.

This was Ament’s second NBA game. He made his NBA regular-season debut against LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night, going 0-of-1 from the floor in 11 minutes. He had one point on 1-of-4 free-throw shooting and added three rebounds with five fouls.

Ament played in two preseason games earlier this month. He had eight points and two rebounds against the Timberwolves, and three points and four rebounds against the Thunder. He did suffer an ankle injury in the latter game, but had enough time off leading up to the regular season that he looks good to go.

Ament played in all five of the Bucks’ Summer League games in Sin City in July. He tallied a double-digit scoring performance in two of the five games and came close to a double-double in the Bucks’ final game on Saturday.

In total, Ament averaged 11.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 2.8 turnovers during the five games. He shot the ball 50% from the floor (20/40) and 39% from three-point range (7/18). His best game was a 23-point showing against Charlotte.

Ament was drafted with the 13th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. He played at Tennessee for one season under head coach Rick Barnes.
