The Dallas Mavericks extended their television partnership with FOX Sports in a move aimed at maintaining local broadcast coverage and strengthening the connection between the NBA franchise and its supporters. The agreement reflected the importance of regional sports networks in delivering live basketball, team programming and additional coverage to local audiences.

Mavericks proprietor Mark Cuban said, “FOX Sports has been an amazing partner for the Mavs and our fans. We are excited to do a long-term deal that will allow Mavs fans to stream our games as well as watch on television.”

FOX Sports Southwest Senior Vice President and General Manager Jon Heidtke added, “We are happy to continue our relationship with the Dallas Mavericks, and we look forward to providing Mavs fans with the most complete coverage of their home team for many years to come. We launched our network with the Mavericks, and we look forward to continuing this great partnership.”

The agreement underscored the role of television distribution in extending a team’s commercial reach, supporting advertising inventory and maintaining consistent access to live sporting events. However, the specific financial terms and duration of the extension require confirmation from the original announcement.

Dallas has opened the 2026–27 NBA regular season with two wins and two defeats. The Mavericks lost 128–110 to the Houston Rockets in their season opener before defeating the Indiana Pacers 121–105. A 122–106 loss to the San Antonio Spurs followed, but Dallas returned to winning ways with a 113–109 victory over the Miami Heat on October 26.

As of October 27, Dallas holds a 2–2 record and sits seventh in the Western Conference standings. The team will next host the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 28, followed by a home fixture against Houston on October 30. Both games offer opportunities to build momentum during the opening weeks of the campaign.

The franchise has since moved beyond its former FOX Sports arrangement, adopting a different local broadcast model. Consequently, the historical extension should not be interpreted as a new 2026 agreement. The distinction is important when assessing the Mavericks’ evolving media-rights strategy and its implications for fan access and commercial distribution.
