SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs are rolling, and they’ll look to keep their five-game winning streak alive tonight when the Dallas Mavericks come to town for another chapter of their Texas rivalry.

San Antonio (5-2) enters the matchup sitting sixth in the Western Conference, while Dallas (4-3) is ninth. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. at Frost Bank Center, with the game airing on CWSA.

And once again, all eyes will be on Victor Wembanyama.

The Spurs’ 7-foot-4 superstar has been making his presence felt on both ends of the floor, establishing himself as one of the NBA’s most intimidating defensive players while continuing to deliver big offensive performances.

Wembanyama is averaging a league-leading 4.0 blocked shots per game, along with 10.7 rebounds, ranking fifth in the NBA on the boards.

His recent performances have given Spurs fans plenty to get excited about, including a monster 43-point outing against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Halloween night.

Wembanyama also grabbed seven rebounds, handed out six assists and blocked four shots in that performance, showing just how much he can influence a game beyond scoring.

But San Antonio’s success hasn’t been a one-man show.

Dylan Harper has provided another offensive spark, including a 25-point performance against Minnesota, while De’Aaron Fox added 20 points in that victory.

The Spurs have continued to build momentum early in the season, and Wednesday presents another opportunity to extend their winning streak against an in-state rival.

San Antonio has already beaten the Mavericks once this season, cruising to a 122-106 victory on Oct. 25.

Now the Spurs will try to make it two straight against Dallas and strengthen their position in the Western Conference standings.
