A recent Mr. Basketball award winner will be transferring to a new program for his senior season of high school.

Former Buckhorn High School star and 2024 Mr. Basketball Caleb Holt will transfer to Florida’s Prolific Prep, he announced on social media Monday afternoon.

Holt spent his junior year at Grayson High School in Georgia after transferring from the Madison County program following his sophomore year.

Recently relocated from Napa, California, Prolific Prep has been one of the top private high school basketball programs in the country following its creation in 2011.

Now in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Prolific Prep has finished the season ranked in the top 10 of the MaxPreps national rankings over the last six years and finished at No. 3 in the independent rankings this season.

Before transferring to Grayson High School, Holt claimed the ASWA’s Mr. Basketball award at Buckhorn High School in 2024, becoming the first sophomore to win the award.

He averaged 20.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.4 assists to lead Buckhorn to its second straight Class 6A state championship in 2024 under now-Whitesburg Christian coach Patrick Harding.

A five-star prospect who recently signed an NIL deal with Adidas, Holt holds offers that include Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, UConn, North Carolina, Kansas and Georgia.

Holt most recently made headlines after leading his team to a championship and claiming MVP honors at the Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy.

He was also invited to the 2025 USA Men’s U19 National Team training camp and helped lead Team USA to a victory in the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
