Golding was about to enter the final year of his first, five-year contract, which, after bonuses, paid him $700,000 per year.
The new contract will run through 2028, marking UTEP’s second season in the Mountain West.
UTEP is coming off an 18-15 record and a quarterfinalist appearance in the Conference USA tournament. The entire staff has since been replaced, and all but four players have either transferred or exhausted their eligibility.
