The Raymond community is mourning the loss of 25-year-old basketball star Cameron Woodall, who was killed Sunday in a four-wheeler accident.His family said the accident occurred when a tire blew out on an ATV, sending Woodall into a tree on Midway Road. He died on impact.”I’m not OK,” his mother, Camelia Bracey, said. “I’m hurting, but I’ve got to be strong because I always raised him to be that way, too.”Known as “Superman” to some, Woodall played professional basketball in Peru and wore the jerseys of Co-Lin, Tougaloo, and Grambling. “As you can see, he was bigger than me, but he never treated me like his little brother,” said Jaylin Woodall, Cameron’s brother.”A lot of people will say, ‘Coach, he really needed you,'” said Raymond High School head basketball coach Tony Tadlock. “When I look back, ‘No, I really need him.'”Cameron Woodall’s life, from his first dribbles to his last breath, was marked by a dream and a legacy rooted in love. His mother is planning funeral arrangements for Saturday, and Tougaloo College and Raymond High School will celebrate his life with events throughout the week.
