When talking about the Los Angeles Clippers’ offseason plans, the Boston Celtics have come up a lot recently.

First it was the report about the Clippers’ interest in Jrue Holiday.

Then the Clippers were named as a potential suitor for Derrick White.

Now there has been another Celtics player brought up as a potential target for the Clippers this offseason.

In a recent article, Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes named Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis as an “ambitious” trade target for the Clippers.

The Celtics will likely be looking to deal Porzingis this offseason as they find themselves in a weird spot. They’re just a year removed from winning an NBA title, but also know they won’t have Jayson Tatum next season.

They could leave them looking to shed salary for next season and Porzingis is one of the most likely candidates to be dealt.

Porzingis would give the Clippers some interesting options in their rotation.

They couldn’t depend on him to replace Ivica Zubac. He has never played more than 72 games in a season and has reached 60 games just three times in 10 years.

Instead, he could give the Clippers a solid power forward and somebody who can slide over to center when Zubac is off the floor.

He’d give the team better spacing when filling the center role as he shot 41.2% from three this past season. He’d also give them another consistent scorer.

He averaged 19.5 points per game this past season and more than 20 points per game in each of the five seasons before.

With a cap hit of $30.73 million for the 2025-26 season, Porzingis could be too expensive for this role.

If the Clippers could make the money work, Porzingis would give them the ability to put together some huge lineups with him and Zubac and give themselves some of the scoring they were missing last season.

He’s not the kind of star the Clippers have been rumored to be pursuing this offseason, but he could be a solid lower tier option if they aren’t able to land one of those bigger names.
