Josh Hart finally addressed the New York Knicks’ exit in the Eastern Conference Finals, while revealing his allegiances for the NBA Finals.
The New York Knicks suffered a heartbreaking exit in the Eastern Conference Finals. For the second year in a row, the Indiana Pacers ended their season.
In the aftermath of their elimination game, fans lambasted Josh Hart for his performance. Hart’s outing was so poor that even he admitted he didn’t play well in Game 6.
Fans had grown tired of Hart playing so many minutes during the Pacers series, as he was actively hurting the team with his poor level of play.
Now, weeks after the elimination, Josh Hart spoke on his podcast with Jalen Brunson about the Knicks’ exit, and looked at the ongoing NBA Finals.

Speaking on The Roommates podcast with Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart gave his thoughts on the NBA Finals. He admitted that he’s watching the series as a hater, presumably of the Indiana Pacers.
He then reflected briefly on their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Pacers and admitted that he and the Knicks were always confident of winning, despite being down 3-1.
“I watched a little bit of Game 1, I didn’t watch Game 2. I’m watching a little bit of gamecast, looking at the score, because I’m a hater.”
“During the series, we were down 3-1. But I never felt like we were down 3-1. I felt confident, we’re good. I’m watching some just to be a hater, so I can be a hater.”
Well, it appears all of Hart’s confidence was for nothing. The Knicks wound up winning Game 5 to go 3-2, but the Pacers closed the series in six games to win the Eastern Conference Finals.
Josh Hart goes off on Tom Thibodeau critics
In a post on X, Josh Hart went off on the people criticizing Tom Thibodeau in the wake of his exit as Knicks head coach. He demanded that Thibs be shown some respect for the work he did with the Knicks.
“All y’all talking trash about Thibs lame as hell. A different direction was taken, but y’all should be appreciative for what he did for the team and organization.”

Thibodeau was one of Hart’s biggest defenders, so it stands to reason that the two are very close. For his part, Thibs has kept things classy, penning a loving letter to the Knicks after his exit.
As of now, the Knicks are focused on replacing Thibodeau. After approaching several candidates and having the door shut in the Knicks’ faces, they are beginning to look elsewhere.
Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins are at the top of the Knicks’ list. But the Knicks can still land Jason Kidd if the head coach’s alleged contract demands are to be believed.
The Knicks’ coaching hunt needs to come to an end soon, as with each passing day and each failed attempt, the franchise is going back to being the laughing stock of the NBA.
