WASHINGTON (7News) — Former Georgetown forward Micah Peavy has drawn some attention during the NBA pre-draft process.
The 23-year-old worked out for the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday in San Francisco. Peavy said that was his 11th pre-draft workout and that he has four more scheduled with the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of the June 25 draft.
Peavy averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in his lone season with the Hoyas — his fifth and final campaign at the collegiate level. Before coming to D.C., Peavy spent one season at Texas Tech and three at TCU.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder has always considered himself an elite defender, calling himself one of the best prospects in the draft on that side of the ball. However, he credits Georgetown coach Ed Cooley for helping him take the next step offensively.
“I just really appreciate [Cooley],” Peavy told reporters Tuesday in San Francisco after a pre-draft workout with the Warriors. “He helped me open up my game and he helped me show everybody what I’ve always thought about myself — that I can play offense and score the ball.”
Peavy also thanked the Hoya program and fan base for enabling him to have a career year and become a target for NBA evaluators.
“Georgetown, it means everything to me. Not just coach Cooley — the whole coaching staff, my teammates, the fan base — they welcomed me with open arms,” he said.
Peavy is widely projected in mock drafts as a mid-to-late second-round pick.
