Even as he spent much of the campaign as the Knicks’ top frontcourt reserve, the power forward’s playing time was sporadic, then nonexistent in the playoffs.
It was a symptom of Tom Thibodeau never really trusting Achiuwa, an issue that went back to the 2023-24 season and carried over through a clunky reunion because cap restrictions compelled a re-signing for this past season.
Speaking to The Post last month, Achiuwa called it a learning experience while alluding to a midseason revelation.
