SAN ANTONIO — New Spurs Head Coach Mitch Johnson paid a heartwarming visit to patients at Methodist Children’s Hospital on Thursday.

Johnson helped pediatric patients craft calming jars, a project designed to promote relaxation and emotional well-being during their hospital treatment. He also joined in on a music therapy session.

A highlight of Johnson’s visit was time spent in the pediatric oncology unit, where he made room visits to patients who are typically unable to leave due to being immunocompromised.

It was an incredible experience to connect with these brave kids. Their strength and resilience inspire me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring a little joy to their day,” Johnson said in a statement.

He also took time to meet with hospital staff, including their beloved Emergency Services Facility Dogs — Chanel, Fresca, and Lady—who are always available to provide comfort and snuggles to those who need it.
