The 2025 NBA Finals has been a bunch of fun, and after a strong win for each team over the last two games, we’re now set up for all the drama of a Game 7.
The Pacers have made a habit of stepping up in the playoffs and overcoming adverse odds. They’ve had five comeback wins when down by 15 or more points in this playoff run, and faced elimination in Game 6 along with concern over Tyrese Haliburton’s calf injury. Yet, even with their star point guard being a game time decision to play, Haliburton bounced back and stepped up to help the Pacers dominate for a 108-91 win.
Can he keep it going enough to fight through Game 7, and lean on Pascal Siakam and the rest of the team’s depth and constant energy to close out the series?
The Thunder have fairly been the the favorite this series, though, with the league’s MVP, third-ranked offense and top defense. Them ending the year as champions would be a neat end to the fantastic season they’ve had. They still have the two-way excellence to bounce back, not to mention multiple stars capable of exploding for a potentially game-deciding scoring night. From Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (who has four 30-plus point games this series) to Jalen Williams (who scored a crucial 40 points in Game 5).
This is the first NBA Finals to go to a Game 7 since 2016, when the Cavaliers historically came back from a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors to win. Now, with everything on the line for younger groups of stars fighting for their first championship, let’s see who can come out on top.
This should be a great one — and hopefully a close contest until the end for maximum drama.
