The Phoenix Suns acquired the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft on June 25 as part of the Kevin Durant trade with the Houston Rockets.

What player could they take with that pick?

Recent NBA mock draft selections for the Suns with that selection include Maryland big man Derik Queen, South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles, Duke forward Kon Knueppel, Illinois guard Kasparas Jakucionis and Michigan State guard Jase Richardson.

Why would the Suns take those players at No. 10 overall?

Check out what NBA writers say in their recent 2025 NBA mock draft projections for the Phoenix Suns  for the No. 10 overall pick.

Kevin Durant trade grades: Why Phoenix Suns ‘got worked’ in deal with Houston Rockets

The Athletic: Suns land Maryland big Derik Queen at No. 10

Sam Vecenie writes: “Queen has come up in a few conversations as one to watch for here with the Suns, and it makes sense. He’s an incredibly skilled big who can dribble and pass at a high level as a creator. Defensively, he’ll be asked to do far more than he was at Maryland in the NBA and put in disadvantageous positions. Queen will need to work incredibly hard to become more capable on that end and even then, may not hit a high level because he lacks great physical traits. But some scouts see the idea of a playmaking center in the Alperen Åžengün mold, a productive player who will average 20 points and 10 rebounds for a long time. There’s plenty of reason to buy into that. Simply put, Queen has been wildly productive at every stage of his career.”

CBS Sports: Suns take South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles at No. 10

Adam Finkelstein writes: “The Rockets will be making this pick for the Suns as part of the Kevin Durant deal that can’t be finalized until after the draft. Phoenix should be focused on the frontcourt where Murray-Boyles could potentially step right in. CMB is long, strong, very smart, a good rebounder, impactful on both ends of the floor and versatile, definitely. If the shooting ever comes on, he could have real value here.”

Kevin Durant trade: What to know about new Suns players Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks

ESPN: Suns go with South Carolina forward Collin Murray-Boyles at No. 10

Jonathan Givony writes: “On Sunday, the Suns agreed on a blockbuster trade, sending Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in this year’s draft and five second-round picks, sources told ESPN on Sunday. With the Suns desperately needing to upgrade their frontcourt — especially after losing their starting power forward in Durant — Murray-Boyles is likely someone the team will consider heavily if it keeps the pick, along with a more traditional big man such as Derik Queen.”

Bleacher Report: Suns select Duke forward Kon Knueppel at No. 10

Jonathan Wasserman writes: “The Phoenix Suns own this pick (again) as part of the deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets. Regardless, every team figures to have some level of interest in Kon Knueppel’s shotmaking, efficient scoring and easy fit. Viewed as a safe pick with a valued, bankable skill in shooting, he also flashed enough driving ability and ball-screen playmaking for teams to see a more versatile, well-rounded offensive player.”

The Score: Suns take Illinois guard Kasparas Jakucionis at No. 10

It writes: “Jakucionis’ passing makes him an excellent swing for upside. The Lithuanian can throw every imaginable pass with either hand and is capable of deftly tossing lobs or whipping cross-court dimes directly into a shooter’s pocket. His size and outside shooting will allow him to play off the ball, giving him more versatility than other guards in this class. Jakucionis has high-level starter potential if he can tighten up his handle.”

SB Nation: Suns pick Michigan State guard Jase Richardson at No. 10

SB Nation’s Ricky O’Donnell wrote: “Kevin Durant is a Houston Rocket and the best thing they gave up in the package was the No. 10 pick in this draft, which originally belonged to Phoenix. The Suns desperately need to hit on this pick because they don’t control their first-round pick until 2032. The Suns can go a lot of different ways here. Collin Murray-Boyles would be an excellent fit for a team that desperately needs more of a defensive presence. Derik Queen would be a high-upside gamble on starpower, and he could form a fun 1-2 scoring punch with Devin Booker. Noa Essengue would be a bet on a super young forward with great tools who can grow with the organization over time. My bold prediction is that the Suns will target Jase Richardson, because their Michigan State bias is just that strong.”
