ARDEN — (WLOS) – Mason Plumlee’s Annual Basketball Camp Brings Kids to Arden from “All over the map”
Mason Plumlee is a former Christ School Greenie and Duke Blue Devil. He is hosting his annual Plumlee Basketball camp on the court he designed and donated to Christ School.
He said, “I think this camp is a good lift to the community in a time where they are trying to come back from what happened here.”
Boys ages 11-18 come from all over the country to Arden, NC to home in on their skills here in the mountains. Plumlee said, “There’s a lot of good basketball going on here.”
He was inspired to design and donate the second court to Christ School because the camp reached capacity. He wants to include as many players as possible because, “I think camp generally is great experience,” he commented.
Plumlee played for Christ School along with his two brothers, Miles and Marshall. All three played for Duke becoming the third trio of brothers to do so in the NCAA. They also all continued their careers in the NBA, but Mason is the only one currently playing. He is a forward-center for the Phoenix Suns.
Plumlee Basketball is an overnight camp that runs through June 25th.
