TNT Sports NBA analyst Grant Hill, who re-signed with the company earlier this year, is adding a role on the new NBA on NBC.

NBC Sports announced Tuesday that it has hired Hill as an NBA game analyst starting this fall, a role that will not impact his position as a college basketball analyst for TNT Sports. Hill has been the #1 game analyst for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on CBS and TNT since 2015.

Hill is the latest addition to NBC’s NBA game analyst roster, joining Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford, both of whom left TNT entirely to join NBC.

For a time, he was considered a contender to join ESPN/ABC as a replacement for J.J. Redick on its lead NBA team. Hill began his broadcasting career with ESPN/ABC as a guest studio analyst during the 2007 NBA Finals.

It is not clear who Hill will work with on NBC NBA games. Miller and Crawford were hired as co-lead analysts and are expected to work with the network’s top play-by-play voices, Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle. NBC is also expected to use Terry Gannon on NBA games.

On the studio side, NBC has hired Carmelo Anthony and Vince Carter as analysts and on Monday announced that Maria Taylor — ESPN’s lead NBA studio host for a tumultuous two seasons from 2020-21 — will be its main host.
