Lancaster Mennonite’s leading scorer is transferring. Cody Fisher made the announcement on social media over the weekend.

The 6-5 guard, who averaged 16.5 points for the Blazers, is headed to Friends’ Central. The junior will reclassify as a member of the Class of 2027.

Fisher was an All-State selection as a sophomore and was second team all-league as a junior. He helped Mennonite finish 23-5 and reach the District Three Class 3A final and PIAA quarterfinals.

The best moment of Fisher’s season came during the state tournament when he scored 26 points, including the go-ahead basket with five seconds left to defeat Catasauqua in the second round. Fisher made 55 3-pointers and shot 82% at the foul line last season.

Mennonite was expected to return its entire starting lineup and be among the favorites for the league and district championships.

The team still has Chase Hurst, a first team all-league pick, and Bill Rothwein, a strong rebounder and complementary scorer. Brady Grau and Daulton Nolt return from the first five and Jackson Bare is back as a 3-point threat.

Friends’ Central, located in Wynnewood in Montgomery County, is not part of the PIAA. It competes in the Friends’ Schools League and Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools Athletic Association.
