The Sacramento Kings have picked up the $1.9 million 2025-26 team option on forward Isaac Jones’ contract, per Spotrac’s Keith Smith.

Jones, who started the season on a two-way contract, earned a standard NBA deal in March thanks to his impressive play in the G-League (21.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks) and hustle with the Kings over 40 appearances.

The Kings also tendered a two-way qualifying offer to Isaiah Crawford. Crawford will now be a restricted free agent on July 1.

As Sacramento navigated injuries to forwards on their roster like Trey Lyles and Jake LaRavia, Jones received spot minutes at the backup four and, in some cases, small-ball five.

The 6’8, 245-pound forward became another feel-good story for the Kings, as Jones followed in teammate Keon Ellis’ footsteps as a player who went undrafted, to signing a two-way contract, to signing a standard NBA deal.

The physicality, athleticism, and overall affordable contract for next season make sense for the Kings when it comes to picking up the team option on Jones.

Sacramento will surely look to round out the roster with upgrades, but it doesn’t hurt to keep Jones in the fold for depth at his current price point.

The Kings’ roster stands at 12 players, meaning there are three open spots for new general manager Scott Perry to tinker with come Monday’s start of the NBA free agency period.

What’s next for the Sacramento Kings offseason?

The NBA free agency negotiation period begins on Monday, June 30th, at 3 pm PT, meaning Sacramento will be able to negotiate with players — but agreements cannot be officially completed until Sunday, July 6th.

Who will the Kings sign in free agency? Will new general manager Scott Perry make trades in hopes of upgrading the roster?
