Former teammates Kevin Durant and Chris Paul exchanged words and had to be separated during the first half of Thursday’s game between the Suns and Spurs.

The pair were jawing during the second quarter of the close game, but officials let them play on initially.

On the next possession, the two players were called for a double technical with 3:17 remaining in the first half. The bad blood then continued into the last possession of the first half and the former teammates had to be separated before entering the locker room.

Durant and Paul played together for half a season in Phoenix after Durant was acquired by the Suns before the 2023 trade deadline. That summer, Paul was dealt by Phoenix in the trade to acquire Bradley Beal.

Durant had 10 points (on 5-of-8 shooting), two rebounds and two assists in the first half while Paul had eight points (on 3-of-4 shooting), three rebounds and five assists in the first half.
