Orlando, FL — Gate City native Mac McClung is free to explore new opportunities in the NBA after a decision was made by the Orlando Magic Thursday afternoon.

The three-time NBA slam dunk contest champion became an unrestricted free agent after the Orlando Magic withdrew their qualifying offer.

McClung averaged 26 points and 6 assists per game this past season while shooting 51 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point land for the Orlando G-League affiliate.

The release comes after the former Blue Devil got 10 minutes of playing time over two games for the Magic last season, and McClung has only seen 76 total minutes in six games over 4 years.

Free agents can begin signing with their new teams on July 6th. Let’s hope he latches on with another team
