The Philadelphia 76ers’ No. 3 pick from the 2015 NBA Draft is crossing the Pacific.

Jahlil Okafor has signed with Levanga Hokkaido in Japan, according to Scott Agness.

The big center from Duke spent most of 2024-25 in the G League, and he also appeared in one NBA game for the Indiana Pacers.

Okafor has played for Philadelphia, Brooklyn, New Orleans and Detroit in addition to that lone Indiana appearance.

He spent a couple seasons previously overseas in China, along with an 11-game stint in Spain.

Now 29 years old, Okafor might be signaling that he doesn’t expect to make it back to the NBA level.

If this is it for Okafor, he ended up playing in 248 NBA games. His career averages were 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Okafor was at his best as a rookie for the 76ers, when he averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

His back-to-the-basket prowess quickly became an anachronism in the modern NBA, though, and it sent Okafor on his way to this journeyman career that he’s still traveling.
