Amber Rose Howard has filed for divorce from former NBA superstar Dwight Howard.

TMZ obtained the legal filings, submitted to a Georgia courthouse on July 1. Amber Rose, a rapper and reality TV star publicly known as Amy Luciani, confirmed the split in a statement to The Shade Room.

“Although it is true, I am not sure how it got out to the public,” Luciani said. “Still wrapping my head around a lot. Although I know it won’t happen, I hope the public can give us grace and privacy right now.”

Luciani announced their engagement in December, and the divorce filings indicate they were officially married on Jan. 11. Howard confirmed two weeks ago that they were legally wed.

“There’s always some rumors, but [I] just keep that side of my life private so everybody ain’t got nothing to say,” Howard said on The Breakfast Club. “Keep that private and keep it moving.”

According to TMZ, Luciani called the marriage “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for reconciliation.” The divorce filing requests alimony payments and the equal division of all marital assets.

During their brief marriage, Howard was elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The former center will be formally enshrined with the 2025 class, also featuring the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Sue Bird, on Sept. 6.

Howard received eight All-Star and first-team All-NBA nods during his 19-year career. The five-time rebounding champion won Defensive Player of the Year three straight times with the Orlando Magic.

Howard averaged 18.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game during his nine seasons in Orlando. He led the Magic to the 2009 NBA Finals and later won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

The Olympic gold medalist also cemented himself in NBA lore with his unforgettable performances in the Slam Dunk Contest. Howard participated three years in a row, winning in 2008 after flying through the air for an emphatic slam while wearing a Superman cape.

Luciani rose to popularity as a YouTuber before becoming a cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
