The Los Angeles Lakers held an introductory press conference for their offseason acquisitions, Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia.
Former Portland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton dropped praise on LA Lakers teammates as it’s evident he’s excited to suit up in the iconic Purple and Gold jersey.
While most eyes were on Ayton, Jake LaRavia also gave a sneak peek at what the Laker Nation should expect from him in the 2025-26 NBA Season.

Considering LaRavia is essentially a replacement for fan favorite Dorian Finney-Smith, expectations will be high for the 24-year-old forward.
He will likely earn a consistent bench role under head coach JJ Redick, similar to what DFS did last season. But even during those limited minutes, what should fans expect from him?
Well, LaRavia gave a solid answer to it during his introductory press conference held at the Lakers’ training facility.
“I play hard – I give it my all every night. Whether I’m making shots or missing shots, the one thing I can control every game is bringing that energy.
“… I’ve always been that type of player who doesn’t give up on plays. I just love basketball,” LaRavia announced.
Jake LaRavia doesn’t care about money
Playing for the Lakers is a dream come true for many, but not every NBA player gets a shot at making it a reality.
Well, LaRavia did that this summer, but he signed a two-year deal for just $12 million. However, it was clear that LaRavia’s goal was to play on a championship-contender, and he couldn’t care less about the additional money.
That mentality makes him a perfect team player and a key reason why the Lakers replacing DFS with him was a masterstroke.
Even Lakers legend James Worthy is excited about the 23-year-old’s signing with the team. Worthy expects LaRavia to thrive with Luka Doncic.
LaRavia is coming to the Lakers after averaging 6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game for the Sacramento Kings last season.
