The Milwaukee Bucks are in need of building depth in the wake of its offseason decisions.

The Bucks waived star point guard Damian Lillard and signed center Myles Turner to a four-year deal. As a result, the Bucks need a forward or a guard to pair with Turner and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

According to Forbes NBA reporter Evan Sidery, the Bucks are reportedly interested in Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, Sidery said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“The Bucks have explored sign-and-trade scenarios to obtain Jonathan Kuminga. The Warriors show little interest in Kyle Kuzma, so it would take attaching their 2031 1st plus a prospect to gain any significant traction. In the meantime, Kuminga’s market appears in a standstill,” Sidery’s post said.

The Bucks need a forward who can handle the ball and Kuminga could end up being that guy. At just 22-years-old, Kuminga has already won a NBA title with the Warriors his second season in the league.

If the Bucks did add Kuminga, he would almost certainly have an increased role in Milwaukee with added playing time. Kuminga averaged 23.4 minutes per game during the 2024-2025 season. However his minute count just started to increase this past season with former guard Klay Thompson leaving for Dallas last summer.

Kuminga played a key role for Golden State this past season as he helped the Warriors get to the second round of the playoff. He averaged 15.3 points per game with 2.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds.
