LAS VEGAS — The Indiana Pacers defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 116-115, at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas during the NBA 2K26 Summer League on Thursday.
The Pacers (1-0) and the Cavaliers (0-1) played a thrilling encounter that was decided in the final 10 seconds of the game. However, it didn’t look like that in the beginning. The Cavaliers raced to a 35-25 lead in the first quarter and looked in complete control of the contest, but the Pacers would eventually respond. It wasn’t until the third quarter that Indiana delivered a statement and outscored Cleveland 34-23, setting up a decisive fourth quarter with numerous lead changes.
Both teams traded buckets in the final stretch of the game, but when it mattered most, Enrique Freeman drained two clutch free throws with seven seconds left to give the Pacers a late lead. The Cavaliers tried to win it with the final shot of the game, but Jaylon Tyson’s 3-pointer was off the mark. The Pacers won the game based on their better shooting as they made 59.1% of their shots and 40% their 3s, while the Cavaliers shot 54.4% from the field and 38.2% from deep.
RayJ Dennis led the way for the Pacers with a 26-point, nine-assist, four-rebound performance. Enrique Freeman not only drained two clutch free throws but he also ended with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Quenton Jackson made his presence felt off the bench and ended with 24 points while shooting 8-for-10 from the floor.
Nae’Qwan Tomlin led the way for the Cavaliers with 30 points. Jaylon Tyson had a double-double after ending with 20 points and 12 assists. Norchad Omier and Tyrese Proctor also stepped up as part of the scoring contributions. Omier delivered 17 points and nine rebounds, while Proctor had 14 points and two assists.
