LAS VEGAS, Nev. (WJHL) – It was a successful start to the summer for a pair of former Tennessee Volunteer guards on Friday night.

VFLs Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler combined to play 43 minutes in their NBA Summer League debut, helping the Detroit Pistons past the New York Knicks, 104-86.

Lanier, the No. 37 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, tallied ten points (2-7 3pt FG) and four assists. He also chipped in two rebounds, a block, and a steal.

Zeigler came in off the bench, scoring eight points, swiping and steal and dishing out an assist.

Detroit’s Ronald Holland II poured in a game-high 28 points in the victory.

The Pistons return to action on Sunday against the Houston Rockets. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. ET.
