Purdue basketball recruit Omer Mayer scored 24 points with 11 assists Monday as Israel defeated Poland 91-75 in the Under-20 EuroBasket tournament. Mayer made 4 of 8 3-pointers.

The 6-foot-4, 18-year-old averaged 17 points and 6.3 assists while shooting 45.5% on 3-pointers as Israel went 3-0 in Group A. It plays Romania on Wednesday in the Round of 16.

Mayer averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2 steals per game, and shooting 38.4% from 3-point range, last month in the U19 FIBA World Cup as Israel made the quarterfinals.
