She’s the all-time leading scorer for Lebanon girls’ basketball, and on Wednesday, Kailah Correa officially signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at the University of Delaware. Correa, along with six other Lebanon student-athletes, made their college decisions. But for the Cedars standout, the celebration was a little sweeter. That is because Correa was surprised by the retirement of her Lebanon jersey. The No. 1 is set to hang in the Lebanon rafters forever. “This school means more than anything to me. You know, this jersey I went through war with this jersey and fought battles in this jersey with my teammates and just, you know, be recognized by my hometown. It’s honestly a blessing. You know, I dreamed about stuff like this, and it’s actually here in front of my eyes. It’s honestly a surreal feeling,” Correa said. Correa was just the 10th girls’ basketball player in Lancaster-Lebanon League history to reach the 2,000-point club, doing so earlier this season.She finished her career at Lebanon with 2,166 points.
