Through two Summer League games, Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Yang Hansen has looked impressive in Las Vegas.
He scored 20 points with eight rebounds, eight assists and four blocked shots. The only negative has been his eight turnovers.
Five came during Saturday night’s 96-86 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Yang was disappointed he didn’t perform better.
“I wish I can do more for the team winning for sure,” Yang told reporters through his interpreter. “When you win, you feel good.”
Yang said Memphis’s defense gave him some problems.
“It really bothered me tonight,” he said. “I made some turnovers. I can learn from it and just step up.”
Yang admitted he became fatigued after having played Friday night during a 106-73 win over Golden State. Playing back-to-back games, he said, proved difficult.
“It’s a really big challenge for my conditioning,” Yang said. “I need time to adapt to the new pace and the new schedule.”
Yang and the Blazers will have had two days off before Tuesday night’s game.
“That’s one of the things that the NBA is different from every other league around the world is that we play back-to-backs,” Blazers Summer League head coach Ronnie Burrell told reporters. “So, it’s something that he has to get used to.”
