Aaron Gordon is Mr Clutch for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Playoffs in 2025.

The Denver Nuggets are the team that refuses to be beaten. After firing head coach Michael Malone with three games remaining of the regular season, nobody took them seriously as contenders.

Now nobody is writing the Nuggets off after their never-say-die attitude has been showcased in the NBA Playoffs so far, and nobody has defined this more than Aaron Gordon.

Aaron Gordon was the hero of the Denver Nuggets opening game win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, sinking a dramatic late three-pointer.

This came after his dramatic buzzer beater dunk to steal a game on the road at the LA Clippers in their tightly contested series.

Gordon’s crucial impact is not confined to big moments either. In the win over the Thunder he was one of the highest rated players, scoring 22 points overall and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Aaron Gordon’s big time performances show how he is taking the Denver Nuggets’ quest to win the NBA Championship seriously.

And he has personal motivation, expressed before the season when his team signed free agent Russell Westbrook.

Gordon said: “I push myself, work relentlessly to elevate his time in the NBA. It’s the same with Russell; he’ll also be a Hall of Famer.

“I’m doing everything I can to try and get him a ring. I stick to my role, and at the end of the day, that’s what gives me inspiration.”

Russell Westbrook is a former MVP, achieving individual success during his former run with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

But after reaching the Finals with the team in 2012, Westbrook has been unable to win the NBA title, a feat the Denver Nuggets achieved in 2023.

Gordon’s selflessness is one of the reasons he is so highly admired by Denver Nuggets fans, and his teammates, and he has the performances to back up his big talk.

If Denver win it all this year, Gordon will deserve it – even though he would argue Russell Westbrook deserves it more.
