KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — Former Kentucky star Julius Randle has inked a new three-year extension to stay in Minnesota.
NBA insider Shams Charania previously reported in late June that the deal was worth $100 million and included a player option for the 2027-2028 season.

Last season, Randle averaged 18.7 points per game along with 7.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists for the Timberwolves.

In a release, the Timberwolves noted that Randle became the first player in franchise history to record 1,200+ points, 400+ rebounds, and 300+ assists in his first 69 games with the team.
Across Minnesota’s 15 playoff games this season, Randle averaged a career-best 21.7 points on 50.2% shooting.
In the 2013-2014 season with the Wildcats, Randle helped lead the team to a national championship loss to Connecticut before being drafted seventh by the Los Angeles Lakers.
