The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that forward/center Derik Queen underwent successful surgery to address a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist.The surgery was performed this morning by Dr. Steven Shin in Los Angeles. Queen sustained the injury during the Pelicans’ Summer League contest against the Portland Trail Blazers on July 15. He will be reevaluated in about 12 weeks.Queen averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds per game in the Summer League. The Pelicans moved up 10 picks in last month’s NBA Draft to acquire Queen, trading an unprotected first rounder in 2026 for him.
