NBA Summer League rookies

NBA Summer League is in full swing, and these are the rookies that have impressed the most.

Bronny James did not play Friday night in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ NBA Summer League game against the Denver Nuggets.

James was seen on the court pregame wearing sweats. Teammate Dalton Knecht, the Lakers’ first-round pick in 2024, was also out.

It was the second game of a back-to-back for the Lakers, who fell to the Boston Celtics 87-78 on Thursday.

James proved to be a bright spot in the second half against the Celtics. He scored all 18 of his points in the second half, after going scoreless in the first. He has scored 17 or more points in each of the last two games.

He shot 7-of-13 from the field Thursday and produced five assists and three rebounds in 28 minutes. James still can improve after turning the ball over eight times.
