The Boston Celtics will be very happy after one of their Summer League stars showed a lot of promise.

The Boston Celtics will enter the 2025-26 NBA season with a lot of question marks. After Jayson Tatum’s brutal Achilles injury brought an end to their championship hopes, the Celtics made a lot of big moves.

As Jaylen Brown looks to take a bigger role, like he always wanted, with the Celtics, the rest of their roster is going to be very different next year.

After the Celtics traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Hawks, it became apparent that they were not planning to compete for a title next season.

But they may have struck gold in the offseason, as Charles Bassey looks like a future Celtics center in the making.

To make things even better, another Celtics Summer League player just ended his campaign with a strong performance that showed fans he had serious NBA potential.

Isaiah Wong signed with the Boston Celtics for the NBA Summer League. The former #55 pick from the 2023 NBA Draft had barely gotten to play NBA basketball the last few years.

After a brief stint in Europe following his G-League exit, Wong felt like he did well in Las Vegas. His big priority was to try and get everyone else involved. And in turn, Wong thanked his teammates for doing the same for him.

“I feel like I did a good job. Coming in, the minutes I got, I feel like I did a lot with those. Bringing energy off the bench, trying to get everybody involved.

“I feel like when I did that, they got me back involved. I felt real good about this Summer League.”

As of now, there is no word on whether the Boston Celtics will offer Wong a full-time contract. However, another NBA team could see his 18-point performance against the Atlanta Hawks and sign him.

Boston Celtics seem ready for expedited rebuild year

Isaiah Wong could receive a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics next season. Given how hard the Celtics worked to get under the salary cap aprons, he might be a solid option to bring off the bench.

Brad Stevens is struggling when it comes to signing guards. The Celtics failed to bring back former star Marcus Smart, losing him to their rivals, the LA Lakers.

Furthermore, the Celtics missed out on signing Damian Lillard, although he would’ve been out for the whole season, having suffered the same Achilles injury as Jayson Tatum.

Celtics’ second-round pick Max Shulga has shown signs of promise. But he cannot be one of the key guards in their rotation.

Perhaps instead of landing a big-name guard, the Celtics can opt for a few two-way and minimum contract stars to fill those spots.
