Paul had interest in the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Suns, league sources informed The Arizona Republic, as he looked to stay close to home. His family lives in Los Angeles.
Paul played three seasons for the Suns (2020-23). He was the catalyst in Phoenix reaching the 2021 finals.
The Suns traded him to Washington in the Bradley Beal deal in the summer of 2023. Now Beal and Paul are teammates. Phoenix bought out Beal, who signed a two-year deal with the Clippers for $11 million with a player option on the second year.
