LAS VEGAS – Utah Jazz big man Kyle Filipowski earned Most Valuable Player honors for his performances in the 2025 NBA Las Vegas Summer League.

Filipowski played in the first three games for Utah and averaged 29.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on 56.1 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from three.

Kyle Filipowski In Year One

Filipowski shocked both Jazz and NBA fans in his rookie campaign.

As the 32nd overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, his production mirrored that of a lottery pick. Across 72 games played with 27 starts, Filipowski put up 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists a night on 50.2/35/65 shooting splits.

His offensive game is impressive — he displays strong passing, touch around the rim, and shooting ability. The only glaring weaknesses on that end are his shooting consistency and free-throw percentage.

Filipowski’s ceiling was quickly attached to his body progression because he was able to put up good stats and show promising flashes, all while getting pushed around a bit on both ends.

Fans were excited to see what year two would look like for the Duke product with some more weight and a year of experience under his belt.

From Rookie To Sophomore Summer League MVP

As could be expected from a player who held his own in the regular season, Filipowski came in and dominated the summer league.

In his very first game, he recorded 32 points on over 70 percent shooting. His worst performance in Vegas came in game two, but he still put up 21 points and six rebounds in a 103-93 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

He followed his worst performance with his best, posting 35 points and 11 rebounds against San Antonio on 58 percent from the floor and 62.5 percent from deep.
