The Golden State Warriors lost one of their G-League signings to the LA Lakers, and understandably, Dub Nation is not happy.

For whatever reason, the Golden State Warriors have made no signings or trades this offseason. GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. has stayed very quiet on that front.

The Warriors need to surround Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler with solid role players. But so far, Golden State has just seen some of their players leave.

Undoubtedly, one of the biggest shocks was the Warriors losing Kevon Looney in free agency, as the New Orleans Pelicans came in and swooped up the former NBA champion.

The Warriors know they must build around Curry and Butler. Having such a strong duo is wasted if the Warriors don’t actively recruit more players.

And because of their inactivity, Golden State missed out on another star. The Warriors lost Chris Manon to the Lakers, despite him putting up some brilliant numbers for them in the Summer League.

Several Warriors fans took to X to share their disappointment over losing Chris Manon. The Summer League standout signed a two-way deal with the 17-time NBA champions.

One Warriors fan noted, “Happy for Manon; he had a very strong Summer League with the Warriors. I was hoping they would be able to snag him for Santa Cruz on an E10.”

While another Warriors fan lamented, “Dang, the Lakers got Chris Manon from us. He was pretty good.”

A Warriors insider gave some insight on Manon, saying, “Warriors people loved having Chris Manon this summer. Was just talking with a source that is very high on him… Looked like he could have been a hidden gem.”

One fan lauded the Lakers’ signing, claiming, “When in doubt, go for broke with the athletic, high stocks, percentage guy, which looks like Manon. One of those guys figures out their offense and ends up being a rotation player if you keep cycling.

While another Lakers fan celebrated the deal, writing, “Manon instantly becomes one of the best two-way deals in the league. He’s undeniably good enough to play a rotational role for the Lakers, specifically alongside Luka.”

The Los Angeles Lakers plan to sign 7-footer Christian Koloko and forward Chris Manon on two-way NBA contracts, sources tell ESPN. Manon, undrafted out of Vanderbilt, played for the Warriors in California and Las Vegas summer leagues. Koloko played 37 games for L.A. last season.

LA Lakers land another strong signing in Chris Manon

The LA Lakers pulled off a brilliant move in landing Chris Manon on a two-way contract. Given how well he played at the Summer League, he has definitely earned this contract.

Manon averaged 11.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks. Clearly, he can make an impact on both ends of the court.

With the way they’ve been approaching free agency, the Lakers are clearly prioritizing players who can play strong defense.

The Lakers signed former DPOY Marcus Smart recently, a big boost to their perimeter defense. Plus, the Lakers also have eyes on Jrue Holiday.

Could the Lakers be one of the best defensive teams next season? If the talent they have hit their ceilings, then there may be no getting past their players.
