Brad Daugherty, former Cleveland Cavaliers center and color analyst for FanDuel Sports Network, is taking a significant step up the broadcast ladder.

Peacock officially announced July 24 that Daugherty would join one of its broadcasts teams as an analyst on its NBA game broadcasts for the upcoming season.

Daugherty announced on X that fans shouldn’t worry. He will still be doing split duty on Cavs broadcasts.

NBC and Peacock are one of the league’s new broadcast partners. As part of that agreement, the networks will pay $2.45 billion per year as part of deal that pays the NBA $76 billion over 11 years from all of its partners.

In return, the two will broadcast up to 100 regular season games — up to five games a week — in addition to the playoffs.

The slate of NBC and Peacock analysts include: Daugherty, Derek Fisher, Robbie Hummel, Austin Rivers and Brian Scalabrine. They added Michael Grady as their final play-by-play announcer.

Previously announced announcers include: Jamal Crawford, Reggie Miller and Grant Hill. Grady will join a play-by-play team that includes veteran Mike Tirico, Noah Engle and Terry Gannon.

George M. Thomas covers a myriad of things including sports and pop culture, but mostly sports, he thinks, for the Beacon Journal.
