Since joining the Boston Celtics, Derrick White has developed into one of the most reliable guards in the NBA — on both sides of the ball. Not only has White proven himself to be among the best two-way guards in the NBA, but he’s also emerged as a vital piece of Joe Mazzulla’s rotation.

However, before White teamed up with the Celtics and then head coach Ime Udoka, he was learning from Gregg Popovich with the San Antonio Spurs. White was slowly proving himself on the rebuilding Western Conference roster. However, the front office decided to swap him for Romeo Langford, Josh Richardson, a 2022 first-round draft pick and a 2028 pick swap.

During the debut episode of his “White Noise” podcast, White discussed the range of emotions that he navigated after finding out the Spurs had decided to trade him. He also spoke about the acclimation process, both to his new team and a new city.
