The Philadelphia 76ers were able to land versatile Trendon Watford at the outset of free agency in an effort to get younger and add more depth to a roster in need of it. He averaged 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in the 2024-25 season with the Brooklyn Nets.
Watford, a close friend of Sixers star Tyrese Maxey, will look to give Philadelphia something it has been missing in the past. The Sixers have needed a big man who can grab a rebound and then turn the other way and make plays in transition either for himself or for others. Maxey explained how Watford can help earlier in the summer.
Back in Texas, Watford was in an open gym run and he was putting in work on the court.
Watford figures to be a heavy part of coach Nick Nurse’s rotation. One has to believe the Sixers will give him a look early and often to make an impact due to his versatility on the floor.
