It’s time to celebrate, Nuggets Nation. One of the best jerseys in franchise history is back.
After years of the NBA pushing the ‘5280’ angle down the throats of Nuggets fans and the rest of the NBA, a trend that has put a damper on some otherwise solid uniforms, they finally made the easy decision, which is also the right one.

The black skyline jerseys, which were worn for the 2019-20 season in which the Nuggets made the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 11 years, will be back and better for the team this season. Many remember these as the same threads that ‘Bubble Murray’ was born in, as he dropped 36 points in an overtime victory in Game 1 of the playoffs against the Utah Jazz with the black skylines on. He then had the same colors on for Game 5 of that series when he put up 42 points on 65% shooting.
Don’t forget about the two insane layups he pulled off while rocking these.

Murray and Nikola Jokic are the only two players who will be rocking these uniforms for the second time, as there isn’t a single other player from that squad who is still on the roster heading into the 2025-26 season. Michael Porter Jr. was recently dealt away in a trade for Cam Johnson while Vlatko Cancar’s time in Denver had run its course.
On the surface, the only difference between the 2019-20 and 2025-26 editions of the jersey is the sponsor, as ibotta will have its logo posted where Western Union once stood, a change that took place before the 2023-24 season.
Since these left town, the Nuggets have had the red skylines, the 75th anniversary jerseys, the white and red throwbacks, the black 5280’s and the white 5280’s as the team’s city edition jerseys.
It’s been a long time coming, but one of the best jerseys in franchise history is making a comeback. Looks like the NBA finally learned that the 5280 bit was overdone. Are these the best city edition threads they’ve worn since 2018? https://t.co/FUVdhgypKA pic.twitter.com/ChIQYyeoQP

The white skylines are also another iconic alternate jersey, but the general consensus is that the black ones get a slight nod over those. The red and white throwbacks have some character especially because Denver won the title in them, but nothing tops the black skylines.
The Nuggets only wore four jerseys last year, so if the NBA and Nike want to keep things the same, this will be the only alternate to the three main jerseys they’ve been wearing this decade. More jerseys or not, this is a huge win for Nuggets Nation.
